3.5 inch disks
Most commonly used on IBM Compatible PC and Apple Macintosh but also used on many other varied systems – typesetting, word processing, micro and mini computers.
The third generation of floppy disk – now in a protective hard plastic shell – smaller, but with slightly higher capacities than the 8 inch and 5.25 inch disks. Widely used for saving, storing and transporting individual files – mainly from word processing applications.
Used mainly today on IBM PC compatible and Apple Macintosh.
